This explains what personal information we collect when you visit this site, buy Scan Bench or use the app, and what we do with it.
Who we are
Scan Bench is made by Refresh Print Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13642636), registered office 7 Carrier Street, Halifax, HX1 1DH, United Kingdom. We trade as Clearpath360. Email: info@clearpath360.co.uk.
We are the controller of your personal information under UK data protection law.
Your scans stay on your computer
Scan Bench runs on your own computer. The scans, drawings and films you open or make in it are never uploaded to us.
What we collect
- When you buy: your name, email address, billing country and order details, from our reseller Lemon Squeezy. We do not see or keep your card details.
- Licence checks: your licence key, a name for each computer you activate, and the time of each check. Like any internet request, these also pass your IP address.
- Updates: when the app checks for and downloads updates it contacts GitHub, which also sees your IP address.
- When you contact us: your email address and whatever you send us, such as screenshots or screen recordings.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this site.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To sell you a licence, send it to you, check it and give you support: to perform our contract with you.
- To keep records of sales: to meet our legal obligations, for example for tax.
- To tell you about important changes to Scan Bench or your licence, such as the end of the beta: our legitimate interest in running the product. You can ask us to stop at any time.
Who we share it with
Only with the services that help us run Scan Bench, who handle it for us under contract:
- Lemon Squeezy: checkout, payments, tax and licence keys.
- Cloudflare: hosting this website and the app downloads.
- GitHub: app updates.
- Google Workspace: our email.
- Google Fonts: the lettering on this website (your browser fetches it from Google).
Some of these are based in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by the safeguards that UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK-US data bridge.
We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
Order and licence records: for as long as your licence is active, and then for 6 years for tax and accounting. Support emails: for up to 2 years after we last hear from you.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable form. Email info@clearpath360.co.uk. We will reply within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
